Miraculous Mila

Birth Date: 12/11/2014

This sweetheart arrived at Racing Dog Rescue Project late October with a broken leg from the track. She was immediately taken to an excellent surgeon who helped her on her road to recovery. Mila was fortunate enough to receive wonderful and loving care in two foster homes… one for her initial recovery and the second for getting ready for her furever home! Our fosters are fabulous and GREYT! Thank you Geri & Heather!

Important notes about Mila from those who love and care for her –

Mila is really mild mannered and very sweet. She spends a lot of time in her crate, and will only sleep there or on another dog bed. She won’t just lay down on the floor anywhere, even on the carpet. Despite healing from the broken leg, she really enjoys going for walks, and will go on as many walks as you will give her. She is well behaved on leash, but will get distracted by the random squirrel or bunny. She also enjoys being outside in general and just smelling around the yard. Mila is still learning toys, and likes the toys that crinkle over the ones that squeak. She is completely housebroken, and she will let you know when she wants to go out. She loves to have neck scratches, and when she is really happy she will smile at you and chat to you. She would probably prefer a home with mostly carpet, but is learning to navigate wood floors. Strategically placed runners help her feel comfortable getting around and she will go 10 feet or so between rugs but anything more than that, she won’t try to navigate (yet. I’m sure in time, she would get used to any type floor.)  Mila is still shy at first with people, but once she gets to know you, she likes lots of lovins! She is really a joy to have around.

Mila has already lived with several greyhounds and gets along well with them!
